Process & Payment

  1. Application: After reading the information here, go to the link below & fill out the form.
  2. Confirmation: If your application has been accepted I will confirm the details of your commission via email.
    • At this point you can send additional information or visual references. Eg. Photos, written descriptions, existing art, doodles, stock photos, colour palettes, etc.
    • It is IMPORTANT that the details of the commission are clearly expressed. Being clear from the beginning saves time on revisions in the sketching stage.
  3. Quote: Once I’ve gauged the work that will go into your commission, I will send a quote.
    • Surcharges generally apply if a commission requires more work (eg. extremely detailed armour or clothing). Otherwise prices will follow what I’ve provided below.
    • Upon receiving a quote clients can decide whether they would like to pay for the surcharge or find solutions to suit their budget (ie. adjusting the commission).
  4. Invoice: After the quote has been accepted, I will send an invoice.
  5. Payment: Work will commence once payment has been made either in full or 50% upfront.
    • Currently only using PAYPAL.
    • Full refunds cannot be made past this point.
  6. Sketch: I will send a rough sketch for approval before starting the lineart. Max 2 revisions can be made at this point, but it is important that the initial request is clear from the start.
    • Major changes made after the sketch is approved will incur a fee.
    • Minor changes can be made while lining, but nothing that requires me to redraw significant portions of the work that are already lined.
    • Full refunds cannot be made at this point.
  7. Completed Work: I will typically send the completed work as a high resolution JPEG and PDF unless otherwise asked.
    • If you’ve paid in deposits, I will send a preview first.
    • Finished files will only be sent upon receiving payment in full.

Content & Subject Matter

When accepting commissions I reserve the right to decline applications for any reason.

When requesting content I find technically challenging, please consider if my style and aptitude are right for you. If I find something too technically challenging, I will inform you.

  • Dark/NSFW:


    Dark and/or suggestive themes are OK but currently not taking NSFW work

  • Technically challenging:


    Furries, animals, robotic parts, gore

  • TOO technically challenging:


    Mecha, extreme gore

Terms of Service

Refunds & Cancellations

  • Cancellations should ideally be organised prior to payment as refunds will not be given in full once sketches have begun.
  • Disliking the commission or change of mind are not valid reasons for a refund.
  • Full refunds are eligible to clients in the event that I (the artist) cause a delay of more than 4 months since starting work on the commission.
  • Late payments in the form of: 1) a full payment 2) an upfront deposit, or 3) a final deposit may result in the termination of the commission.
  • In the event of cancellation or breach by the Client, the Client shall pay the artist according to the following schedule:
      50% of agreed fee if cancelled before delivery of the initial stage of designs.
      50% of agreed fee if cancelled after delivery of the initial stage of designs.
      50% of agreed fee if cancelled after delivery of the second stage of designs (second stage not always necessary).
      75% of agreed fee if cancelled after delivery of advanced stage of designs.
      100% of agreed fee if cancelled after delivery of finished artwork.

Copyright & Usage

  • I reserve the right to use work I make for portfolio/body of work purposes and post online.
  • I will not claim ownership of your designs, characters, etc.
  • I will not reproduce commissioned work for commercial purposes.
  • I retain ownership of all rights of copyright and the original artwork, including sketches and any other preliminary materials.
    Clients are allowed to:
  • Use the copyrighted artwork for personal use. (Eg. Printing the work for private use; using the work for display pictures, headers and other decorative purposes.)
  • Claim the right of their character(s).
  • Share the artwork online with proper credit.
  • Use the art to promote themselves with proper credit given to the artist.
  • Alter the artwork with prior consultation with the artist.
 
    Clients are NOT allowed to:
  • Make any profit or reproduce/use the copyrighted artwork commercially without prior agreement.
  • Take credit for the creation of the work.
  • Remove any watermarks from the work.

  • Use the copyrighted artwork for personal use. (Eg. Printing the work for private use; using the work for display pictures, headers and other decorative purposes.)
  • Claim the right of their character(s).

Privacy

Kindly refrain from sharing any personal information (legal name, legal address, etc.) you may find during the process of commissioning me. I would like to remain largely anonymous and under my known alias, Chii. In turn, I will respect your own privacy.

Credit

Sharing of my work online should be given to my Twitter username: @chitn0. Use of my alias (Chii) is optional but should only be done with the addition of my Twitter username.

Commercial Rights

A purchase of commercial rights can be negotiated through email. With commercial rights you are allowed to use your commissioned work for commercial purposes. This includes: making merchandise, using it in books or covers, or promoting your own brand. Credit is still required for usage of the artwork, even if altered or edited.

Delivery

Delivery of a piece may take at least 3 weeks with time divided between other work and commitments. I will do my best to deliver work in a timely manner but will notify you in advance if there is a chance of possible delays. Please let me know in advance if there is a deadline for your work. If the deadline requires a considerable amount of rush on my part, I may charge an overtime fee.
